Privacy Policy

Your money, your business.

Effective September 2, 2026

Signal is a personal finance app that helps you understand your own money. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and the Signal app, how we use it, and the things we will never do with it. We have tried to write it the way we write everything else: plainly.

The short version: we collect your financial data only to show it back to you, with understanding attached. We never sell it, never share it for advertising, and never move your money.

What we collect in the Signal app

How we use it

We use your data for one purpose: to provide Signal's features to you — spending analysis and categorization, budgets, net worth tracking, recurring-payment and price-change detection, refund matching, and insights about your own financial patterns. We use AI services to help interpret transaction descriptions and generate insights; the data shared for that processing is limited to what the feature needs and is not used by those providers to train their models.

What we never do

Where your data lives

Your data is stored on infrastructure located in the United States, encrypted in transit. Access tokens for connected accounts are held securely and can be revoked at any time by disconnecting the account.

Your choices

Children

Signal is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and update the date at the top. We will not quietly weaken it.
